It is something about this fall that has me feeling out of sorts. This one has been particularly tough. It is a season that I have never been fond of. In my part of the world the weather turns cold, the trees stand naked in the wind and the flowers have shriveled and died. Apart from the weather and the election, I also found myself attending two funerals. One of a friend of my mother's and another of a musical colleague. Both were premature deaths as a result of fighting cancer. I found the death of my musician friend particularly difficult because I watched his casket lowered into the ground in front of his three young daughters.

I need to break my routine and do something different.
