Here I am trapped in the whirlpool of socialization that is Mindsay. It isn't a bad thing but for me but very distracting. It isn't atypical of me to duck out and disappear when I have something that needs my attention.

The question begs, "What is Bloggermouth doing?"

Paying attention to things close at hand. Particularly business. Seven years ago I embraced Web 2.0 with a fervour and wrote a few web based applications that I sell online. They are business oriented applications with an eye towards marketing, finance, and communications. Blogging came along and more or less, leaning towards more, interrupted the creative flow that I put towards development. Eventually I became less interested in coding and more interested in blogging. This led to a dwindling bank account and the dawning realization that I cannot make a living off selling old software. The software sold well enough to keep me EBay spending mode while my main business relied on custom web development.

For the past few months I thought I would bite the bullet and revamp my website and most of the software I have written. I am not quite finished but I am optimistic that I can focus on web based software rather than custom web sites. Explaining the intricacies of the web to some business people is akin to teaching my dog to speak in Cantonese. My work has led to new ideas and consequently more work. I could go on and on but I have to draw the line somewhere and leave new features for future versions. Or not. I haven't decided yet.

My preference would be to focus on finishing my apps and sell them online in vast quantities. The reviews are good so far. While most of the technical stuff is done, the more daunting task of writing ad copy is looming over the horizon. With all of the blogging I have done, I can't write ad copy to save my life. I will likely outsource on that or at the very least, seek good advice. Anyone?

Apropos of all of this was a short conversation with my oldest son.

"You better leave me an inheritance Dad because I don't want to work."
"Ahh, you poor thing"
